Antioxidant activity of bee products versus synthetic antioxidants at experimental cataract

Cataracts - the most common pathology of the eye, leading to a sharp decrease of view. The main role in its pathogenesis plays a rose-shenie activity of lipid peroxidation (LPO) of the lens and the reduction of antioxidant protection, which determines the desirability of studying the antioxidant agents to be included in the complex of conservative treatment of cataracts.

We have previously shown in the experiment was pronounced antioxidant-tion and the therapeutic effect of the synthetic antioxidant ionol with diquat-induced cataract.

The aim of this study is a comparative evaluation of en-tioksidantnoy activity of natural antioxidants - products pche-lovodstva and synthetic antioxidant - ionol model diquat-induced cataract.

Material and methods. Work performed on 63 rabbits breed Shin-Shilla weighing 2.0-2.5 kg in both eyes which was modeled oxidative-tive stress as a cause of the development of cortical cataract, a single intravitreal diquat dibromide.

Conclusions

1. Application for diquat-induced cataract apiproduktov and synthetic antioxidant - ionol led to marked clinical effect, decrease the concentration of MDA and increase ak-efficiency antioxidant enzymes.

2. Among the tested bee products most pronounced en-tioksidantnym action comparable to ionol has apikompozitsiya.

3. The least pronounced antioxidant properties when studied-ener- pathology have honey and propolis
